Dumb People at Apple

So Today I had to run some errands and I was at the Stamford Mall. I stopped in at the apple store to see if they had a xserve on display. Since they just dropped a new quad core. I figure worst case, they wont have it and I will be on my way. I asked one of the nice black apple shirt employees if they had one. She responded, a what. I started to open the website apple.com/xserve on one of the macbooks at the store and asked her if she was new. She responded, I am the manager. I almost fainted. To think a MANAGER at an APPLE store does not even know the PRODUCT LINE. I know an xserve is more for business, but its not like Apple is like Daewoo who builds cars, TVs, DVD players, etc. Apple is a hardware company, with less then 20 products. As much of you know I own a powerbook and was a Apple hater until I got my 17in powerbook. Anway, I just need to post that. I am not sure if I will post up all that happen in Europe, if you want to know, email me and I will send something. Enjoy this uneducated world of ours.

Starting to Pack for Europe

Well, I have been relaxing long enough and need to get organized. I have started to pack and prepair for my one month trip to Europe. I ordered a couple of things that I needed and temped to order more (another 4gb SD card for my camera), but I have held back. Anyway, I stopped by canal street in NYC to pickup a watch, got 2 for $15, gotta love a bargin. If everyting goes to plan tomorrow my car (2005 Subaru STI) will be sold :( and I will not have a car anymore. So once I get back from Europe its off to a city enviornment, no more VT for me. So much stuff to do and pack before the trip.

Packed Weekend

Well, I am packing up my car tomorrow and moving all my stuff back home to CT. My apartment lease ends June 30, so I need to move everything out. I will be going to CT/NJ/NYC this weekend and keeping busy. My brother is getting married, graduation party for a friend of mine, and hopefully finding someone to buy my car. Yes, its depressing, but I need to sell my STI. I am getting out of the car scene altogether and not having one.

For your enjoyment, I came across this site today Camraoke, so funny to watch people lipsync

I will be posting all my projects from software to hardware on this site. There are still a couple of things that I want to add to avronics and to SpicyCMS, such as comments. I also need to make the other menu pages.(projects, handbook, about us,contact us) I hope to have time sunday to upgrade SpicyCMS and avronics. As for EdibleTags, I still have a lot of work. Comments and Feedback are always welcome, john at johnmurch dot com

Code Fest

Well, I have been coding away. I have not posted SpicyCMS and am not sure if I will. After seeing some AjaxCMS and other projects that use ruby on rails, my code is not as clean. I have been building 2 other sites: EdibleTags and avronics. I hope to have avronics up by tonight. Avronics will be a place to post some of my projects and some code that will hopefully be used by the community. As for edibletags, you will have to wait. Expect a beta sign up around mid July. The release is expected in August, but with all this free time I hope to have it up sooner.

I FINALLY GRADUATED

Well, after 4 years in college, I graduated. Although I had to pickup my diploma at the registars office. It turns out that 1000 students is too many for UVM to handel and choices to give everyone except Arts and Science students their diploma. Anyway, Now on to the Job Hunt.
